Our Summer Food Market is being held between 6.00 pm and 8.00 pm this Thursday, 13th July at The Institute. We serve a hot meal, drinks and have lots of great food stalls, so come along to shop, eat and drink.
This month Virginia and Di of Smart Cookies are going Moroccan with a dish called ‘bisteeya’ which is a filo pie with chicken, leeks, artichokes and feta served with a herby couscous. We’ll be making a veggie version plus a gf one with gf puff pastry as we can’t get gf filo! Our starter will be homemade hummus (gf) with pita dippers and some alternatives! You can enjoy your meal with us or as a take away. Sam of Bar King will be serving a selection of drinks.
Our Community Stall this month is Banbury West End Tennis Club, our tennis and squash club in the village. They will be on hand to talk about all the events that will be happening at the club over the summer, including junior coaching in the school holidays.
This month we are doing something different and special. Foxdenton Gin are going to offer a free Ruby Gin cocktail to every customer for free – but will be asking for donations to Macmillan Cancer Support and Cancer Research, such very worthy causes with special significance to them.
We have great Guest Stalls for our Summer Market. Ridgways Farmhouse Ice Creams make homemade ice cream and gluten free and dairy free sorbets in many delicious flavours. Yolanda Tapping of Malaysian Memories will be selling her Malaysian curry sauces to spice up your summer. Michael will be selling a variety of Cotswold Fudge Company fudges, handmade by Jen and Sarah using nothing but the best ingredients at their base in Kingham.
Real Artisan Breads are unable to come to our Market this month, so we shall be selling a specially selected range of Cornfield Breads for you.
